Deceased Korean War POW’s remains returned to his family

KENNER, LA (WGNO) – It was an emotional day at Louis Armstrong International Airport as the remains of an American Prisoner of War from the Korean War finally came home.

The family of Clement Thibodeaux gathered to honor the sergeant who died more than 60 years ago, in a prison camp in North Korea.

Thibodeaux was only 17 years old when he joined the Army and died in the prison camp the next year.

His family will bury his remains in Church Point, LA.
