NOPD detectives caught two of three men on surveillance wanted for a violent series of late night attacks with baseball bats.

Near the statue of Sister Margaret on Clio St. in the Lower Garden District  is where the bat wielding trio began their beating rampage.

Police say the victim took one blow to the shoulder with a bat, then escaped.

Just moments later and one block away they attacked a woman in front of St. Theresa, punching her and hitting her with the bat.  Then they took off with her phone.

Down Coliseum is where suspects with bats struck last where they swung and hit a man from behind and in the forehead.

“Take my money. Take my phone. They just kept hitting him. And then he screamed,” says a neighbor who knows the good Samaritan who scared off the guys with bats then chased down 17 year old Keith Williams, who police took into custody, “They got that guy in the ware house district.”

That same neighbor came back and took a picture of the victim (Watch Video).

The unidentified victim seen in the video was taken to the hospital and listed in serious condition.

The baseball bat used in the robberies was recovered.
