Construction on New Orleans City Park’s new championship golf course could begin by the end of this year.

FEMA approved its portion of the funding for the $24 million project. City Park was waiting on the okay from FEMA before they could start. The PGA helped design the course, so it could one day host a professional event.

Before Hurricane Katrina, City Park had four golf courses: the north, south, east, and west courses. Only the north course has reopened.
