Your New Orleans VooDoo are playing to stay alive for a playoff spot. A win last Saturday night not only kept the VooDoo in the playoff hunt but it was the team’s first road win of the season.

Saturday night the VooDoo beat the Pittsburgh Power 59-44. It was an important win for the VooDoo: New Orleans is still in the hunt for the AFL playoffs.

Looking at their record at 4-and-10 you would think the team is eliminated, but if the VooDoo win the remaining games on the schedule the team has a good chance of being back in the playoffs. The road win Saturday night will help the next two weeks when the VooDoo hit the road, first to Utah then next to Arizona.

I’ve been telling my guys we’re in a 400 meters race right now and it’s a tough race,” coach Pat O’Hara told WGNO Sports. “It starts now with four games left. The month of July is huge in arena football. Whoever plays the best football in July typically wins the Arena Bowl.”
