Fireworks, food, music.  It’s all on display tonight at Lafreniere Park as thousands ring in Independence Day a little early.

“I love it because on the fourth we can do something else. We go to another place and do more fireworks.”

“I don’t keep track of the days I just like the celebration so I’m good with it, it’s awesome.”

“It looks beautiful and it’s half way cool.”

Questionable skies cleared early on. For most tonight is just a warm up.

“Because they always have the other celebration in New Orleans on the 4th, it’s kid of a shared experience. This way try both get a little turn.”

It’ll be a long night for the little ones.  The party got started at 5pm with Christian Serpas and Ghost Town and while the fireworks were the highlight, the fun won’t stop until the Bucktown All Stars say so.
