Slidell police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old who they say attacked a man with a machete.

According to police, the attack happened on June 27 in the 1700 block of Lynnwood Drive.

At the scene, police say the victim was missing his right ear lobe.  They say the suspect told them he was trying to kill the man.

Police also say the teenager recently moved to Slidell from Los Angeles where he was a member of the MS-13, one of the most notoriously dangerous gangs in the country.

The teen was arrested on a second degree murder charge and was taken to the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
