Covington Bicentennial Includes Great Race Arrival Saturday

Saturday afternoon, a string of classic cars will arrive in Covington.  The cars are participating in the Hemming’s Great Race which started in St Paul, MN, and will end in Mobile, AL.

The Covington stop coincides with the kick-off of Covington’s bicentennial celebration which continues through the July 4th holiday.

More than 100 cars, all of which were built in 1968 or before, will roll into town around 4:00.

At noon on Saturday, Covington will kickoff its bicentennial celebration with a parade downtown.
