At least one person has died in an accident between a car and the Sunset Limited Amtrak train traveling in Lafayette Wednesday, according to KATC-TV.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says one employee suffered minor injuries in the crash, but no passengers were hurt.

The train had left New Orleans Wednesday at about 9 a.m., and the crash happened shortly after noon at the corner of LA-182 (Old Spanish Trail Hwy) and LA-92 (Smede Hwy) near Youngsville and Broussard, just after a scheduled stop in New Iberia.

The train will continue its journey to Los Angeles after the investigation into the accident is complete.
