Terrebonne Parish arrested 52-year-old William Loring Sunday morning.

Deputies say Loring shot and killed his brother, 57-year-old Ricky Loring at a home on the 5500 block of West Park Avenue in Houma.

William stated that Ricky was banging on the front door and when he attempted to open the door Ricky rushed in and this is when he shot and killed him.  William then left the scene and went to a relative’s residence and informed them of what happened before returning to the scene and calling the Sheriff’s Office.

William Loring was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office where he admitted to shooting and killing Ricky with a handgun because he felt like Ricky was going to hurt him. Deputies say William stated on Saturday evening at approximately 7:00 p.m. he and Ricky smoked crack cocaine together and Ricky later became angry with him because he refused to buy more drugs.
