Friday afternoon, the Bodacious Bras for a Cause Auction and Luncheon kicked off at the Hotel Monteleone in downtown New Orleans. The event is part of the third annual FestiGals festival weekend. Several local celebrities and personalities designed a glamorous and glitzy bra to auction off to attendees. One hundred percent of the proceeds are donated to charity.

“FestiGals is the ultimate and original girlfriends getaway weekend in New Orleans,” says Founder Diane Lyons. “We wanted to incorporate a piece of it to give back, CAGNO, Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans is our cause this year.”

“What a cool event for women to get together and network,” says Keynote Speaker Rhonda Shear, President of Shear Enterprises, LLC.

Shear is originally from New Orleans but currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida, which inspired her “Florid-Ahh” bra design. “I’m know for the Ahh Bra, the number one selling bra in the world, but I wanted to bring a little Florida here because there’s a lot of New Orleans depicted so of course I have palm trees, a drink with an umbrella in it.”

“The bodacious bras are really fun , they have a lot of New Orleans feel, we just saw the Fleurty Girl’s, there’s another football one, so it’s all about raising money at auction,” says Heather Ferdinand.

Not only are the bras bodacious to look at, many of them are stuffed with swag like event tickets, gift cards and extra goodies.
