Crimestoppers increased the reward for information in the murder of a man in St. John the Baptist Parish.

On April 17 around 11:30 pm someone shot into a van driven by 29-year-old Donovan Bailey.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of East 13th Street in Reserve.

His friends in the van drove him to the hospital where he died.

The reward in the case is now $4,500.

At a news conference Monday, Sheriff Mike Tregre announced the reward increase and his plan to solve more homicides.

“I have decided to create a special investigative unit to investigate not only the homicide of Donovan Bailey but of all homicides most recently this year and last year in St. John Parish.” Tregre said.
