Monday morning, workers began tearing down the old Joseph M. Bartholomew, Sr. Golf Course Club House in Pontchartrain Park.

The work was scheduled to begin the prior week but had to be delayed due to inclement weather.

The old club house was damaged by Hurricane Katrina.  The new one will include cart storage and a community classroom.  Construction is set to begin in a few weeks.

In November 2001, the city re-opened the Bartholomew Municipal Golf Course after spending $9 million dollars on renovations.
