Downtown New Orleans construction for “Planet of the Apes” movie

What could be up to two months of street closures will begin Saturday in the CBD.

Film crews will be shooting “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”.

It’s one of the biggest productions to come to New Orleans.  For weeks, contractors have been building a set around the area of  South Rampart, Common Street, and Tulane Avenue.

Once filming begins, that area will be close to car and pedestrian traffic.
