The setting: 1920’s America, the end of Vaudeville and beginning of Burlesque. The classic musical “Gypsy” has been entertaining audiences for decades and now you can see it performed at the Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts in Kenner.

“I’m wearing a lot of hats this show because normally, I only have to think about producing and I also do all the marketing for the theater,” says Kelly Fouchi , the Co-artistic-managing director, makeup artist and mom. Her daughters Tess and Savannah play baby June and Louise.

Family is a big part of this production, both on and off the stage.

Tess and Savannah enjoy working together. “She gives me notes and I can give her notes and we can work on it together, it’s fun,” says Tess. The show offers plenty of fun for the audience as well.

Catch “Gypsy” Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the month of May.
