Former Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard reported to federal prison Monday.

He will serve his nearly four year sentence at a minimum security prison in Butner, North Carolina.

Broussard requested to serve his time in Pensacola to make it easier for his elderly mother to visit.

He pleaded guilty to corruption charges in September.

His ex-wife Karen Parker and former parish attorney Tom Wilkinson have already been sentenced to three months probation for their role in the corruption case.
