More Trouble in Tigertown

It was a wild weekend for former and current LSU Tigers.

Cornerback Tharold Simon arrested in his hometown of Eunice, before he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks.

On Saturday morning, running back Jeremy Hill, a key piece of the 2013 team, was arrested for simple battery. Hill is already on probation. He is suspended indefinitely.

The arrests are the latest in a string of problems for players in the LSU program.

Tyrann Mathieu was booted, punter Brad Wing suspended for the bowl game, Tharold Simon and Spencer Ware suspended along with Mathieu for the Auburn game in 2011, Jordan Jefferson was suspended for part of a season for his alleged role in a bar fight.

You can brush all of this off as unimportant. And you can say this happens at other SEC schools. But I have a question: how can a team that had 9 drafted and 7 sign as free agents underachieve in 2012?

Just wondering.
