Former Covington Police Chief Palmisano Will Fight His Firing

Fired Covington police chief Richard Palmisano will have a hearing to appeal his termination on June 19th.

Last week, Mayor Mike Cooper fired Palmisano after two of his officers were arrested and accused of using excessive force to make a shoplifting arrest.

The mayor says he is currently not in a position to advertise or accept applications for a new chief.  Captain Jack West will run the department on an interim basis.
