The search for a teenager wanted for murder ended in the victim’s Ponchatoula home Wednesday.

Tangipahoa sheriff Daniel Edwards says Ryan Pourciau appeared to be waiting in April Vanderlinden’s house for her family members to return.

Pourciau is accused of killing Vanderlinden in the same home Tuesday.

Deputies say he left a bullet proof vest on the bed he was hiding under Wednesday.

Sheriff Edwards says deputies told Pourciau to surrender.

Edwards says deputies shot him when he instead showed them a gun.

Investigators say Pourciau once dated Vanderlinden’s daughter.

She got a restraining order against him.

Wednesday night Pourciau was in serious but stable condition.
