Tuesday afternoon, Eveyln Davis turned the key on the new home where she and her husband, Joe, will live in Central City.

The three bedroom home was built by Catholic Daughters of America and Habitat for Humanity.

Work on the home began around Thanksgiving.

Evelyn Davis says she’s overwhelmed by the helping hand.

“I am grateful, truly grateful, and I thank God for everything,” she said while accepting hugs from well wishers.

According to Habitat For Humanity, it would cost the couple about $1,200 a month to rent a similar sized home.  But their mortgage payment will be about $600 a month.
