tracy porterThe reunion of Tracy Porter and the Saints will not happen, at least this season.

Porter, a free agent, agreed to a one year contract with the Oakland Raiders. Porter had been courted by the Saints. He visited the team’s Metairie facility last week.

Porter, who hails from Port Allen, was drafted by the Saints in the second round in 2008.  His best season was 2009, when intercepted four passes. Porter’s 74 yard interception return for a touchdown against Peyton Manning and the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV remains one of the signature plays in Saints history.

Porter will start for the Raiders at cornerback. He is re-united there with former Saints secondary coach Dennis Allen. Allen is in his second year as head coach of the Raiders.
