Former Jefferson Parish Deputy Indicted

The Department of Justice indicted a former Jefferson Parish deputy for civil rights, bank fraud, computer fraud, identity theft and obstruction of justice charges.

Prosecutors say Mark Hebert responded to a traffic accident involving Albert Bloch in 2007.

They say Hebert stole his debit card to make purchases and withdraw money from his bank account.

Hebert is also accused of forging check’s to take money from Bloch.

If convicted he faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
