Tigers complete sweep at Missouri, tie school record for best ever start

lsuOnly the 1986 and 2013 LSU Tigers can say they started the season with 26 wins in their first 28 games.

LSU tallied five times in the third to erase a Missouri lead and beat the Tigers 6-5 Sunday in Columbia. LSU completed a three game sweep that puts the Tigers at 8-1 in the SEC. LSU is tied with Vanderbilt for the best record in the league.

LSU trailed 5-1 in the third when Mason Katz hits a three run homer. Katz homered in all three games in the weekend series.

After two costly Missouri errors kept the inning going, Sean McMullen drove in a pair with a single to give LSU a 6-5 lead.

Brent Bonvillain worked 4.1  innings of scoreless relief.

LSU won its fourth straight SEC road series, dating back to last year.

The Tigers play Alcorn State Tuesday night in Baton Rouge. LSU plays Southern Mississippi Wednesday night at Zephyr Field.

The Tigers host Kentucky next weekend.
