Teenagers Behind Bars For Severely Beating a Man in The Marigny

Two teens are in custody charged in connection for a brutal attack in the Marigny caught on video.

16 year old Brian Ellis and an un named 15 year old turned themselves in to police, who say they are two of the suspects who attacked a 40 year old man in the Marigny.

Two witnesses watched and cameras rolled as the victim was ambushed, kicked and beat in the face with a glass bottle.

Detective Michael with NOPD’s 8th District says the two teen suspects are charged with aggravated battery.  Eighth district police want the publics… help tracking down a third suspect, “We actually have no motive except that they wanted to beat the victim up.”

Flores says the victim was left severely injured and his face disfigured, “He has gone through surgery. He has had his face reconstructed.”

Eighth district police want the public’s help tracking down a third suspect, “We don’t have any information on him at all as of yet,” says Flores.

The victim was attacked walking alone before 5am on March 5th at Chartres and Mandeville Streets.

Flores says a second victim came forward after seeing the video, claiming the same three suspects attacked him earlier that night, “He did sustain two black eyes. He says he may have some bruising to his chest or his ribs.”

Nothing was stolen from either victim.

Aggravated battery carries a maximum ten year jail sentence.

The district attorney will determine if the teen suspects will be tried as adults.
