Monday evening, people in Houma were patching windows and picking up debris that they say stemmed from a tornado.

The medical center and a Jubilee Food Store were among the damaged businesses.  Workers were replacing the broken windows on the medical center while a piece of plywood patched the place where the door was torn away from the food store.

“The air was pushing so hard, it just pulled off the whole door and hit a car.  It went all the way to McDonald’s, the whole door,” the food store’s Norman Alghim said while pointing down the street.

As of Monday night, there was no confirmation from the National Weather Service that the damage in Houma was caused by a tornado rather than straight line winds.  Also Monday night, there were no reports of any serious injuries in the area.
