New Orleans police are searching for whoever opened fire on two women Mardi Gras night in the Seventh Ward.

One woman died from her injuries.

The attack happened at the corner of Onzaga and St Bernard Avenue in front of a seafood market.  Workers at the market say the women were not customers and may have been walking in the area, returning home from parades, when they were targeted.

Police are also trying to solve another murder that happened Mardi Gras night in the Seventh Ward.  Someone shot a man in the head on Laharpe Street.

Anyone with information on either murder investigation is asked to phone in a tip to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
