A coveted super bowl souvenir to stay on the lookout for is the NFL’s official super bowl 47 beads.

French quarter artist Ally Burguieres master planned the prototype.

“It proves you were at the super bowl,” says Ally who owns Gallery Burguieres along Royal Street.

Ally is expecting a special-delivery of her NFL super bowl beads any day now, “They are supposed to be coming soon so I’m hoping for boxes and boxes. I want a million of them. We want to have them here in the shop. We want to be able to give them out around the city.  Just for fun.”

Through Courtyard Marriot, the Arts Council of New Orleans nominated Ally to enter the on-line super bowl bead contest, “They asked, would you like to design something?  I just decided to go for it.”

The winner take all best super bowl bead design came down to three final artists, “It was really nerve racking because voting was left  open for an entire week. When my design was in the lead I didn’t want to think it was a sure thing,” says Ally.

Ally hopes the super bowl beads she contrived supply NFL fans a treasured memento they’ll hold on to, “I was so excited to win the contest just to be part of peoples super bowl experience because it’s such a cool thing.”
