Tuesday night, New Orleans police say they arrested three people in a prostitution case.  It’s not an unusual event for them — except for one part.

“Unusual that the child is right there,” said NOPD Lt. Anthony Caprera.

Police say they learned about a woman who was using the website to organize her prostitution operation.  They say they arranged to meet the woman at a French Quarter hotel and arrested her after making their case.

Police also say they saw another woman leave the hotel room and go into another room.  After making the first arrest, they checked the second room and found the woman, a man, and a four-year-old boy.

Police say the second woman was also operating as a prostitute and the man drove them to New Orleans to hook and work in strip clubs.

The boy is the son of one of the women and is now in protective custody.

“And the fact that these people came in from another state strictly for prostitution, it’s because of the events that we’re about to experience, the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras,” Caprera said.

Caprera added that New Orleans police are working with state and federal law enforcement to crack down on prostitution and other crimes that could see an increase as the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras grow nearer.
