Louisiana Oysters Recalled Following Illnesses

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals says nine people got sick from eating Louisiana oysters prompting a recall and closure of an oyster harvesting area.

All of the oysters were from Cameron Parish.  The DHH closed the oyster harvesting area in question in the parish.

None of the illnesses is life threatening.  DHH workers believe the people may have gotten sick from the norovirus.
