Hornets stumble again, fall at home to lowly Wizards

hornets logoThe downward spiral of the New Orleans Hornets continues.

New Orleans scored only 10 fourth quarter points and lost to Washington 77-70 Tuesday night at New Orleans Arena.

The Hornets made only 9 of 41 field goal attempts in the second half. Ryan Anderson had 17 points, all in the first half. Anderson was 0-7 from the field in the fourth quarter.

The Hornets lost despite the return of rookie forward Anthony Davis. Davis scored 13  points and pulled down 8 rebounds in 25 minutes of play. Jordan Crawford led all scorers with 26 points for Washington, including 12 in the fourth quarter when he outscored the entire Hornets team.

The Hornets have now lost 13 of their last 15 games. The Wizards claimed their first road win of the season.

New Orleans plays at Oklahoma City Wednesday night.
