The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department announced the re-capture of Harry Mitchell who was able to break away from his handcuffs and escape from a JPSO interview room earlier in the week.

According to the department, the U.S. Marshals’ Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Mitchell at a home in the 3600 block of Kent Drive in New Orleans.

Mitchell was originally arrested in connection with an iPhone theft case.  They say he robbed a man of his phone on Alex Kornman Drive early Tuesday morning and the phone’s GPS application led deputies to Mitchell.

The JPSO has yet to determine or say how Mitchell was able to escape his handcuffs while inside the interview room and make a getaway.
