Deputy Davin Moran works at the Jefferson Parish jail, but back in September this corrections officer became an inmate, according to the JPSO.

An alleged drunken ride into the Avondale shipyard area is what led to trouble for the 39 year old veteran cop.

Here’s how JPSO spokesman Glen Boyd said the off-duty Moran drove in to trouble:

While in his personal vehicle Moran on the morning of September 14, rode passed a shipyard security gate before being stopped and detained by a guard who then called deputies.

Morgan’s fellow lawmen gave him a field sobriety test.

Moran was arrested without incident, and he’s not the first Jefferson Parish deputy to deal with a DWI this year.

In July, Christopher Hyer resigned after crashing his cruiser while off-duty while and allegedly intoxicated.

And in February deputy Blake Holyfield was pulled over and arrested in New Orleans

As for Moran, a deputy since 2001, Boyd says he’s back at work in the j-p correctional center pending his current DWI case.

The sheriff’s office said it will wait for Moran’s case to play out in court before any decision is made on his future on the job.
