New Orleans cab drivers are hoping the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will help them avoid or delay new city regulations.

The cabbies say the city’s newly required GPS, credit card machines, and video cameras are too expensive.  They also say they need more time if they’re going to install the equipment.

The city counters that the equipment is already required in other metropolitan areas.

The three judge panel is promising to give the case a faster than usual ruling.
