Matt Gresham at the Port of New Orleans confirms that 5 crew members were rescued from the water today, not 4 as previously confirmed.

Four rescued by a passing tug and a 5th rescued by a ship docked at the Louisiana Avenue wharf.


Crew members rescued after tugboat capsizes in Mississippi River

The Kristen Alexis tugboat capsized in the Mississippi River near the Louisiana Avenue warf around 9:30 Tuesday morning.

Four crew members were tossed into the river, according to a spokesperson at the Port of New Orleans. A passing tugboat pulled them out of the water. None of them were injured.

Still no word as to what cause the boat to flip. The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating.
