Some 25,000 people are in New Orleans for the National Council of La Raza convention and family expo. WGNO’s Blaire Arvin reports.

La Raza convention brought a mini-soccoer tournament to the cresent city through jambalaya news a bilingual newspaper. Participants say the activity brings latinos together through a shared interest.

With a focus on the family, fitness is the name of the game at La Raza Convention in New Orleans. Zumba classes for the entire family are here!  Wild Bill Wood invites you to come on down and Zumba!

For the first time, La Raza brings the Latino Family Expo to New Orleans.  It’s free for all families.  Food, Fitness and Fun.  From Saturday through Monday.  Eva Longoria will be there.  First Lady Michelle Obama arrives Tuesday.   Wild Bill Wood is there as the convention sets up.

The NCLR Annual Conference consists of four days of the most thorough and cutting-edge workshops addressing critical issues in the Latino community.
