LBJ

LeBron “LBJ” Joseph (born November 15, 1962) is an American radio and television host and program director.  LBJ is co-host of the New Orleans radio “The Hometeam Morning Show” along with Kelder Summers on Old School 106.7 (KMEZ-FM/ Citadel Broadcasting) and the television news/talk show “New With a Twist” along with Susan Rosegen on WGNO-TV (ABC 26/ Tribune Broadcasting). Both shows air Monday-Friday at 6am and 6pm, respectively.

Radio Career

He began his radio career in 1980 as a freshman on WLDC, Loyola University of the South’s campus station and has worked at a host of Louisiana radio stations including WYLD-AM/FM, WQUE-FM, WXOK-AM, and KMEZ-FM.  He’s also currently Program Director of KMEZ-FM and KKND-FM.

Television Career

From 2001-2005, he hosted the LBJ Show on Cox Access New Orleans. It was a show designed to showcase the rich heritage and culture of the Social and Pleasure clubs, Mardi Gras Indians, and brass bands of New Orleans.  He was chosen as co-host for “Twist” by Tribune Broadcasting in November of 2010.

Personal Life

He was born in Rockville Centre, New York, but raised in New Orleans.  He is married to Greta Joseph and father of Satchel, Connor, and Legend Joseph.  LBJ is an avid fisherman, preferring the saltwater marshes of the Brenton Sound and Biloxi Marshes near his native New Orleans.

When friends come to visit New Orleans, the first place I take them is … to eat.

The most important lesson I’ve learned through my work as a journalist is … to be sensitive to differences of opinion…sometimes, they’re just different.  Not right or wrong, but different.

I give back to my community by … attempting to be as generous as possible with blessings afforded me.

If I had the time I’d like to … fish more.

My favorite Saints player is … Steve Gleason.

My best date went like this … as long as the wife is happy afterwards then it was a good date!
