NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - With Christmas just around the corner, the NOLA Christmas Fest has brought Santa land to the Convention Center.

When you first walk through the doors, you'll be surrounded by 50 beautifully decorated Christmas trees that were put together by different people in the hospitality industry.

The space is much larger this year to accommodate more people and attractions. The kids are sectioned off to make it even more fun for the older and younger kids. The older kids also get newer rides this year.

Another big update to the festival is a much larger ice skating rink. The rink is 50 by 140 feet and covers 7,000-square feet. An ice slide was also added to the side of the rink, extending 120 feet.

Of course, you can expect the gigantic gingerbread house again this year but you can also expect something fascinating from Coca-Cola. This year they've created a Christmas village that's made of 700 cases of Coca-Cola product.

NOLA Christmas Fest is from December 16th - December 30th. Hours are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily.

Christmas Eve hours are from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Christmas Day from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
