NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) -- The 2000 block of Magazine Street is one of those areas of New Orleans that almost never sleeps. In fact, it is hard to know if the people you see might be ending a late night or beginning an early morning.
The regular traffic can also attract criminals looking for victims. One recent case is the latest to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
On Saturday, October 8, at about 4:30 in the morning, surveillance footage shows a white pickup pull behind a parked car. A man gets out of the truck and begins to approach the car but then changes directions toward a passing jogger.
The jogger keeps moving, so the man resumes his course toward the parked car. Once he's at the driver's window and appears to be speaking to the woman behind the wheel, a second man exits the truck and heads to the passenger side doors.
Police say the pair pulled a gun on the woman and tried to rob her. If you look at the surveillance footage, it appears the woman gave something to one of the men, but the NOPD is calling the case an attempted robbery.
The footage ends with the woman driving away from the scene and the robbers returning to the white pickup truck.
If you have any information about the case that could help police catch the gunmen, call CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111. You don't have to reveal your name or testify, and you could earn a cash reward.
So far, more than 320 people have landed behind bars after their cases rolled on the Wheel of Justice.
