KENNER, La. (WGNO) – A Harahan man was arrested Monday for reportedly forcing a 16-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him and threatening to kick her family out of their apartment if she didn’t do it.

According to Kenner Police, Kenneth Bryant, 46, was arrested on a warrant for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and molestation of a juvenile.

Police said they received a complaint from Children’s Hospital Nov. 22. A 16-year-old girl said Bryant coerced the girl to perform oral sex on him. Bryant was the landlord of the apartment building where the victim and her family lived.

Bryant told the girl that he knew her parents had financial problems and said he would make the problems go away if she performed oral sex on him.   According to the complaint, Bryant also threatened to kick the family out if she did not do as he told her.

Police said they also found text messages from Bryant, arguing with the girl because he wanted to have vaginal sex with her.

Bryant was booked Monday and has since been released from the Jefferson Parish Jail on a $50,000 bond.
