LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron visited several metro area schools Tuesday.

They included St Charles Catholic and Destrehan high school. After visiting Destrehan, Orgeron said he wants to hire the best offensive coordinator in the country. And, he said current OC Steve Ensminger, who will remain on staff, will have input.

Among the names Orgeron will likely pursue is current Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.

Orgeron said he's also searching for a special teams coordinator.

He could not confirm that defensive coordinator Dave Aranda will get a hefty raise and a contract extension. But, he said he expects Orgeron to be "a Tiger for a long time."

Orgeron is a popular hire with many fans. Two asked to take his picture when they saw him on the side of the road doing a TVĀ  interview.
