Woman has scooter stolen from underneath her in the Marigny

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The NOPD is looking for a man who stole a scooter in the Marigny last night.

The incident occurred at 2 a.m. at the intersection of St. Claude and St. Roch Avenues, according to NOPD reports.

The victim, a 49-year-old woman, was astride her 2015 Kymco Agility 50 scooter stopped at the intersection when she felt someone pushing her from behind.

She turned to see a man wearing dark clothing and a beanie cap with a fur ball on top who immediately started punching her in the face, according to the NOPD.

Police investigate fatal shooting and carjacking in Mid-City

The woman got off of the scooter and her attacker got on and rode away. The license plate for the stolen scooter is license plate #MC594365.
