NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Judge Seeber (Claiborne Avenue) Bridge is closed again in both directions until further notice due to mechanical failure, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development.
A contractor is on site assisting DOTD personnel to resolve the problem. There is no estimated time-frame for reopening.
The suggested alternate routes are the St. Claude or Florida Avenue bridges.
This is the second time the bridge has closed in less than a month. The bridge closed in both directions Oct. 25, also because of a mechanical failure.
