Ninth Ward man shot and killed after argument in Deslonde St. home

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A 61-year-old man was shot and later died from his wounds after a fight in a Ninth Ward home.

The man argued with a guest at his home in the 1300 block of Deslonde after a gathering, according to a report from the NOPD.

The guest pulled out a gun and shot the unidentified victim several times in the chest and face.

Officers responded to a call for help around 3:30 a.m. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Police are interviewing the man who fired the weapon. The investigation is ongoing.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name and official cause of death.
