3 arrested in rash of storage unit burglaries

SLIDELL, LA (WGNO) -- Saint Tammany sheriff's deputies say they have arrested three men who  broke into a series of self storage units in the parish.

There have been at least five businesses targeted. Four are in Slidell, and one is in Lacomb.

Deputies say the burglaries happened during August and September of this year.  The suspects are identified as John Corter of Pearl River, Jeffrey Applewhite of Slidell, and Randall Durham, Jr., of a Beta Springs.

All three suspects are facing a list of charges. Deputies believe they may be responsible for more, similar burglaries in Washington Parish and Mississippi.

Deputy say so far they've recovered $4000 in stolen property.
