Halloween DIY Costume of the Day: Fortune Teller

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Halloween is just around the corner! Our producer, Taylor Feingold, is showing us a new do it yourself costume each day this month.

Dig up all your scarves, skirts, and jewelry, because we're putting together a Fortune Teller costume!

I started this costume with a flowy maxi skirt and a royal blue tank top. I then added on two more skirts, one was a sheer blue high-low skirt that I turned sideways, on top of that was a beaded skirt. Next, I tied red lace fabric around my waist, but any scarf will do. I added a scarf as a shawl around my shoulders and tied another scarf as a turban on top of my head. Under the turban, I wore a beaded wig so that it would stick out and look interesting. For my shoes, I wore comfortable boots, because you really can't see them under the maxi skirt.

For my jewelry, I put on every ring I could find! I also layered on colorful metal and wood bangles, necklaces, and dangling earrings. As for makeup, a smoky eye and dark lipstick do the trick.

Check back tomorrow to see what kind of other costume tricks I have up my sleeve. Happy Halloween!
