NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Halloween is just around the corner! Our producer, Taylor Feingold, is showing us a new do it yourself costume each day this month.

Ahoy, matey! Batten down the hatches, there's a new costume of the day blowing through.

The pirate costume begins with high-waisted black pants and a peasant top. I took red lace and wrapped it around my waist, and put a belt on top of it. Any type of red fabric and belt will do. As for shoes, I went with boots and added a chain to one of them. A bandana tied behind my head and hoop earrings completed the look. If stopping by the dollar store is an option, I would get an eye patch.

For makeup, I went with a dark red lip and a smokey eye. I'm starting to realize that when it comes to costumes, red lipstick is a must-have. It works with so many costumes!
