NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- How much longer will people think New Orleans is cool after we displace everyone that make it cool?

That’s what Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance is asking folks.

They are inviting you to  an active discussion Thursday, September 29th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Lawrence D. Crocker College Prep.

During the discussion, Housing NOLA is expected to release its first report card on the state of housing.

A lot of folks say their old neighborhoods are not the same anymore after people are buying homes for $75,000 and renovating them, then selling them for $300,000.

They say the heart and soul of the city is being sold off piece by piece.

Others say, there is nothing wrong with people wanting to clean up a home and renovate an area to make it “more aesthetically pleasing.”

What’s your take?
