Benjamin Franklin High School student arrested for threats

New Orleans (WGNO) -The NOPD says on Thursday, September 22 they received calls regarding a16-year-old Benjamin Franklin High School student who was believed to be planning an act of violence against fellow students.

NOPD officers immediately began an investigation and within days, executed a search warrant on the alleged suspect’s home.

Detectives say they recovered digital evidence on cell phones and a computer at the home.

Based on the evidence recovered, officers obtained an arrest warrant for the juvenile.

The suspect was arrested earlier today without incident.

NOPD detectives are working with the FBI on the investigation and it is still active and on-going.
