BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WGNO) - Meet Myles Brennan, the starting varsity quarterback at St. Stanislaus in Bay St. Louis.

Brennan was named to the ALL-USA Preseason Football Team by USA Today. He was an Elite 11 quarterback competition finalist. And he says he's going to LSU.

"I'm committed to LSU and I'm grateful for that. But, you know, I'm looking to go into the season and the main goal is to go out and get the state championship,"  says Brennan.

He wasn't always a QB. "I always played receiver. I was never really a quarterback," he says. "My older brother played quarterback here (St. Stanislaus) his sophomore, junior, and senior years. So, when I would go out to practice and see him playing quarterback, I figured that I would go and try it out."

Brennan was born in New Orleans and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast when he was young. Hurricane Katrina sent him and his family on a detour to Florida for a few years. But, he returned to Bay St. Louis for his 7th-grade year.

"Being a part of this football team, St Stanislaus--it's more than just football," says Brennan. "This is kind of our family away from our real family."

Just a senior in high school, with a bright future ahead, he still keeps everything in perspective. "It's nice to live day-by-day, just take advantage of every moment, because time flies."
