Payton: Breaux back in about 6 weeks, Harper says Saints need to close out games

Cornerback Delvin Breaux had successful surgery to repair a fractured fibula and should return in about 6 weeks.

So, says Saints head coach Sean Payton in a teleconference with reporters, Monday.

“He will be able to make a full recovery and be back with us this season and play,” said Payton.

Meantime, the Saints are 0-1 after losing to Oakland 35-34 Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Oakland scored 22 points in the fourth quarter, as the Saints squandered a 423 yard, 4 touchdown pass day from quarterback Drew Brees.

Saints safety Roman Harper said the club needs to learn to finish, close games.

The Saints play the Giants, 1-0, Sunday at the Meadowlands.
