Hot afternoons and pop-up storms continue

Temperatures will stay right around the 90 degree mark not only through the weekend but into most of next week. High pressure over the Southeastern U.S. will continue to block moisture from entering the area so only a slight chance of a pop-up shower or storm in the afternoon. The best chance will come Sunday as a cold front approaches the area. It won't pass, so no relief from the heat, but it will be close enough to raise our shower/storm chances to 40-50%. Morning lows will remain near 70 on the North Shore and middle to upper 70s on the South Shore. (Jason Disharoon)
